Eleven Companies to Participate in Proof-of-Concept Study for "STAR" Personal Information Management Platform—Demonstration to Launch Using a Token Economy to Match Job-Hunting Students with Companies and Contribute to Their Growth—

In August 2021, as part of its "STAR (Secure Transmission And Recording) Project"—a research project on developing a system for managing and utilizing personal information using blockchain—The Centre for Finance, Technology and Economics at Keio (FinTEK) (hereinafter FinTEK), Institute for Economic Studies, Faculty of Economics, Keio University (Minato-ku, Tokyo; Director: Teruo Nakatsuma), will begin the second phase of its demonstration with 11 companies and over 2,000 students to create a token economy* within the "STAR" platform.

*A token economy is an economic sphere that uses "tokens," a form of alternative currency with a limited scope of exchange, unlike legal tender or cryptocurrency.
